Sir Iz: Saya dengar cita, tahun ni, tak panggil persatuan RusSA dah.
Sahabat 1: Eh, mana ada sir! habis tu panggil apa?
Sir Iz: Persatuan Agama Islam. Sebab korang alim sangat. Pegi surau 5x sehari, baju melayu lengkap pulak tu. Lepas tu, setiap hari isnin dan khamis semua puasa.
...
Ko puasa tak hari ni?
Sahabat 1: Tak.

alhamdulillah. junior debate aku masuk ke semifinal uia. alihbahasa sekejap.
we (ikmal, fert and i) are so proud of you guys! at last, we get to enjoy the fruits of our labor. this is a great deal for us and i'm sure for you guys also. for 3 consecutive years we lost during the octo-finals, and you guys turned the tide. when kak farah's team lost to SASER, we avenged it for them. but sadly, after that we lost to KISAS. ironically, this year, you guys went against KISAS and beat them for us! ah, sweet revenge.
you guys won't probably understand this feeling. debate has always been a part of our lives. it is our destiny. when i called fert to tell him that you guys made it through the semi-finals, he was ecstatic. eventhough you guys are the ones who are debating, but the joyous occasion definitely brightened up our days. ah, how we missed those debating years.
sorry, if at times, we've been too harsh on you guys. criticizing every mistake you guys made, finding all those loopholes that you guys can't simply understand. it is all part of the process. i know, that you guys were so close to making it to the finals. i know, that it was a very bitter pill to swallow. simple because you guys really had the opportunity to win! almost all the MRSM that were present were there to watch you guys, and we know that feeling too.
the pressure put on your shoulders was inevitable. the fact that you guys knew, during the semi, you guys were up against the school that we successfully beat last year during the double-octo was even more harsh. maahad hamidiah kajang was a formidable team (led by the tudung-labuh clad girl with a bag hidden behind her back) and you guys knew how they operated because you guys have watched the match last year. losing was not an option, and you guys have really put your hopes up high.
but in debate, things dont usually go our way. murphy's law comes into the picture. the judges arrived 20 minutes late, allowing the government to have more preparation time and think of ways to kill the case. and you guys are left as the opposition, wondering, what sort of case might the government set up. yes, i know. it is very unfair. but that is how life works.
you guys might be devastated that this would be your last time entering the iium interschool debate championship, and you guys were a match away to the finals. but may i remind you that you guys did made mrsm history by being the first team ever from mrsm to make it to the semifinals in the championship. that is something to be proud of, as the debate team has always been belittled by our giant counterpart, debat bm, in taiping. at least, now, mrsm taiping has not only emerge as the winner of debat bm, but also a proud semi-finalist for the debate category.
crying and grieving over your loss is useless. focus on the upcoming event; the national language week. you guys still need to retain the Piala Ketua Pengarah MARA for us. and i'm sure it would be no problem for you guys :) this time, i promise ill drop by taiping to coach you guys. on the bright side, at least you guys still receive some cash (which i heard was RM1000) and, a guaranteed picture in the newspaper.

hahaha that surprise+shock+pride+ecstasy is shared even by your super senior here lol =)
i'm glad that over the years support for debating in taiping has grown, tho - i'm not sure about support from the admin, but at the very least the seniors keep on coming to help, and that's bleeding awesome.
during my time, trying to sustain a proper debate club pun susah - there was so little interest from the students lol =.=
oh yeah wth lupa pulak - congratulations, btw, to both you guys who bothered to train, and to the juniors who debated as well =)
salam. abg atif! thank you for dropping by :D. and yes we're glad to spread the euphoria to everyone else :D and frankly speaking, i do think that you guys are the one who pioneered the revolution, esp in debate and emc (the english teachers talk a lot about you, esp miss nurul :P)
and yes, debate has definitely grown into a big society now. the students really battle it out for a spot in the debate team. joining the debate team is now as cool as joining debat bm. whatmore now with the full support from cikgu dolah, its really awesome to know that we have built a pretty good foundation for the juniors :D
and once again, i think, on behalf of the junior EMCs, we would really like to thank you guys for making EMC a respectable student body. and for your information, we are still preserving the tradition such as the kopitiam, emc edits and whatnot :P
ok panjang gila. mcm buat penghargaan pulak haha. btw do you have friendster/ym/blog? itll be fantastic if i can keep in touch with you :D
wslm!
bloody hell bapak cool seyh, I didn't know you guys would continue the EMC stuff we started @.@ *terharu nih lol* serious kagum nih. if you would thank us for being the starting point, then i think i would have to thank you guys even more for continuing what we did =) my sincerest appreciation, and i hope all will go on for the better for the EMC in the future=)
and i'm also very, VERY happy that debate has begun to get more attention from the school+students seyh LOL @.@ + =D nak cakap ape pun tak tahu, but lol i'll say it's absolutely cool =) wargh ni yang tak sabar nak gi Taiping balik nih LOL XD
on the blog - yeah yeah, sure =) i see you dropped by my friendster profile a while ago (i'm not active there, btw - guna untuk tah pape je=p), will send you my blog link there yeah.
cheers!
